Freedom of security.

He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither

In regards to one of the previous posts that can be found here, I wanted to share this not so much of a quote, but a statement. A truism attributed to Benjamin Franklin. Because I believe that everyone feel the idea of this I won't talk about it in length. I will just point you into the direction of another older post of mine that deals with the most important freedom we have.

I will say this. If you are not free to make your own choices, then your security isn't in your hands but in the hands of those that make the choices for you.

As for me, university is eating up my time and will continue to do so for the next two weeks. I have no classes, but with exams knocking on the door, it's time to study hard. Damn you, university and degree!
At least it's all for a good purpose. I do learn a lot about the system we live in.

Be well.
Think!

Be careful of your choices though, letting other people give you your choices is just as damaging. The two party political system in the US has done immense damage because of the idea of a choice between on of the other, even though the constitution makes it clear that a political party isn't necessary for office.

how can we change the system?

The sad thing is, you learn about the system, but not about the education part.

I'm still wondering why high schoolers are forced to learn Shakespeare when it has almost no bearing on their lives, unless you count English professors and the occasional pickup line for girls.

Noises - By evolution or revolution.

Lemons - Any work of literature is precious for a curious mind. On of the quotes I used the most in my life was a child of Shakespeare's mind. If anything, I'd put more books out there for young people to read.

Security has to be born from education, not fear.
